Clipappboard

Practical guide · Mac

Reuse and adapt replies without losing the original

You often answer similar questions with similar text. With Clipappboard you can retrieve a previous reply, adjust it as a new copy, and keep the original intact for next time.

You will get a reply adapted to each situation while the original stays available as a reusable template.

Step by step

  1. Find the original reply

Open Clipappboard from the menu bar or your configured shortcut (Shift-Command-V by default) and find the earlier reply with the search field.

  2. Open the preview

Select the text clip and open its preview to review the full content before changing it.

  3. Edit as a new copy

In the preview, choose Edit, make your changes, and save a new copy. The original clip remains unchanged. Text editing requires Pro.

  4. Copy and paste the new copy

Select the new copy, choose Copy, and paste with Command-V in the destination app. You can also press Enter or double-click to prepare it for manual pasting.

Try it with an example

Suppose you saved a support reply for example.com: 'Thanks for writing to us; we are reviewing your case and will reply shortly.' You retrieve the clip, open the preview, choose Edit, adjust the greeting, and save a new copy to send.

Editing requires Pro and is only available for text clips; other content types cannot be edited this way.
