Include your Clipappboard version, macOS version, and the steps that reproduce the issue. Do not send passwords, your clipboard history, or backups.

Open your history and retrieve a clip

  1. Open Clipappboard and click its menu bar icon. You can also use the configured shortcut, initially ⇧⌘V.
  2. Copy a sample piece of text from another app. Find its card in the history.
  3. Select the clip and choose Copy. Return to the destination app and press ⌘V.

If a shortcut conflicts with another app, change it in Settings > General. Pressing Return or double-clicking prepares the clip; then press ⌘V in the destination app. Clipappboard does not request Accessibility permission to paste.

New copies are not appearing

Check that capture is not paused and that “Ignore next copy” is not enabled. Review Clipappboard’s privacy controls, any permissions shown by macOS, and whether you excluded the source app. Test with invented text, not a password.

Universal Clipboard is an Apple feature. Clipappboard can capture content when it reaches the Mac’s local clipboard, but it does not provide its own synchronization service.

Previewing images, documents, and audio

Select a card and press Space, or choose “Preview” from its menu. Space or Escape closes the preview. Images and supported files use macOS Quick Look.

A file clip may be a reference rather than a complete copy. The original must remain in an accessible location. If it was on a USB drive, connect the drive; if it was moved or deleted, copy it again from its current location. A format not supported by Quick Look may not have a preview.

One-time Pro purchase and restore

Open the Clipappboard menu bar icon’s menu and choose “Clipappboard Pro…”. You can also go to Settings > General > Clipappboard Pro. The purchase screen shows the localized price provided by Apple. Pro is a one-time purchase with no expiry, subscription, or renewals.

If you already purchased Pro, use “Restore Purchase” with the Apple Account that made the purchase. You do not need to pay again. A connection error is not a reason to make a second purchase: check your store sign-in and try restoring again.

Not buying Pro does not remove or hide your existing history, collections, or pins. The free limit applies to certain new actions. Trash, backups, and restore remain available for free.

For billing issues or refund requests, you can visit Apple’s purchase support service.

Restore clips and protect your library

Clips sent to Trash can be restored while they remain available. Permanently deleting a clip is different from moving it to Trash. In Settings > Storage, you can create a local backup and check its integrity.

Backups may contain sensitive information. Store them somewhere with access controls, and do not attach them to a support request. Deleting a clip does not change backups exported earlier.

Updates and requirements

Clipappboard is compatible with macOS 12 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Apple distributes updates for the Mac App Store version; automatic installation depends on your Mac’s App Store settings.

If you used a direct-download beta, keep a backup before switching channels. Do not run two copies of Clipappboard with the same identifier at the same time. Contact support if you need help with the transition.
